143. Analytic Mechanics. Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Requisites: courses 32B, 33B. Foundations of Newtonian mechanics, kinematics and dynamics of a rigid body, variational principles and Lagrange equations; calculus of variations, variable mass; related topics in applied mathematics.
