Dynamics of rational maps in several variables

by Nessim SIBONY

Spring 2000

The purpose of the lectures is to give an introduction to the dynamics of rational maps in CPk. We will discuss the following aspects.

  1. Polynomial automorphisms of CPk. Fatou Bieberbach domains, Green-currents, rigidity theorem and it's consequences.
  2. Fatou Julia theory for endomorphisms of CPk. After introducing the main tools, Green-currents, hierarchy of Julia sets, measure of maximal entropy, we will consider some non trivial examples.
  3. If time permits we will discuss some analogies between the theory of holomoprhic foliations in CPk and the Fatou-Julia Theory.
